16 Feb Introducing: Peter Houtzagers
Scheveningen Harbour, Friday, Feb 16, 2017.
Hello, my name is Peter Houtzagers. Kalle Coster and I founded Sailmon BV in the Netherlands in 2014.
This blog is a first in a weekly series. I will keep you posted on the latest developments at Sailmon and share my personal thoughts with you.
This first blog is about long term objectives of Sailmon.
Our ultimate objective at Sailmon is to make this world a seriously better place for sailors.
We will help all sailors in the world to be able to understand and enjoy their beautiful sport even better. And not only the sailors, boat owners and sailing crew. Shore crew, family, friends, guests, fans, supporters, sponsors: we will involve all of them. Rock star pro’s, beercan racers, weekend warriors, cruisers and all in between. The sailing sport will be more interesting and much more fun. For literally everyone who is involved in sailing. Directly or indirectly.
Sailmon for me is not an overnight project. In the contrary: we are here to stay – for decades. I hope for generations to come.
My own story started on Christmas Day, 1961. I always wanted my own business. Since 1989 I have been serial entrepreneur. Check out my LinkedIn page if you wish.
And now Sailmon. I realise we have a unique opportunity. My passion and entrepreneurship have never been closer together. Our team of shareholders: Kalle Coster (CEO), Enno Romkema (CTO), Kim Coster (CFO/acting COO) and myself (The Board). Strong team. Passion, drive, talent and experience. O yes, we have capital too :).
Next week, more about Sailmon is Hiring. We need your help! Most urgently:
- Customer Experience Experts for (support on) Installation and Calibration
- Senior Software Developers
As I said, more on this next week. For now, have a nice weekend and stay tuned.
Best, Peter Houtzagers
